Due to responsibility being shifted from IfI to USIT regarding the running of the Windows servers some IfI specific things has been lost, among them the Linux button on the Windows servers. Here is a short recepie on how to get a xterm on the server.

Start up procedure

Locate the program from the 'Start menu'

Choose to make a new connection by using the Wizard option. Name your connection something, ifi in this example. And choose ssh as connection type.

Enter the server name, or a machine you wish to connect to. 'login.ifi.uio.no' is a good option.

Enter you username, adding the password is not a good idea as saving it here will create problems the next time you change it.

You have now created a connection. Run it and you will be asked about your password. And then you should get a xterm.
